Abbie Loader (using a green X Shot Sight tunnel) of Andover Archers took part in the Hampshire Archery Association County Championships weekend held at Waterside Archers, close to Exbury Gardens in the heart of the New Forest.

The archers shot a WA 720 ranking round on the Saturday morning with an Olympic Style Head to Head knockout round following in the afternoon. On the Sunday, it was a full WA 1440 round to decide the County Champions for each discipline.

The start of shooting was delayed on the Sunday as due to thick mist the archers were unable to see the targets!

On Saturday following the 70m ranking stage, Abbie was ranked in first place. Next was the head to heads. Abbie battled her way through he field to reach the Head to Head final. The final was tense resulting in both archers tied on 5 points each and unfortunately Abbie missed out on first place by the narrowest of margins in the one arrow shoot off.

On Sunday, Abbie had another great day winning the WA 1440. This Sunday win combined with the Saturday runners up points secured the overall victory giving Abbie the HAA Ladies Recurve County Champion Title.
